Financial Literacy Month Series: Getting out of Financial Crisis Series ~Introduction~

Welcome back FitnanceIQ family!  Can you imagine? A quarter of the year has already come to an end? How many of us can say that they have been conquering and achieving the goals that they made this year? I can honestly say that I’ve made some drastic decisions and decided to take a leap of faith (which will be explained another time). And in my opinion have been able to accomplish so much in the 1st quarter of the year. So why not find a way to share some knowledge…

So let me take you back to the beginning of the year when I was thinking of topics to discuss. A couple of my friends loved my concept and advise that I speak about getting out of this “financial rat race”. So once I’m inspired about something I get overwhelmed and start to do endless research; well lo and beyond I decided to Google when the National month for anything in Finance was. Could you imagine it mentioned April? Great, that’s a perfect month to discuss Financial Literacy, but then I decided to scroll and noticed that we Canadians have it during November. Well looks like we are going to have at least two series a year for Financial Literacy. Two is always better than one anyways.

So you may be wondering? What is Financial Literacy Month? Why should I care? WHY SHOULDN’T YOU!!! How many of us can say that they have a savings of 3-6 months’ worth of expenses? How many of us can say that they are consumer debt free? How many of us can say we don’t live paycheck to paycheck? How many of us can say that their retirement funds are taken care of? Hey, not even I could raise my hands on all the questions; but I can tell you this, I’m close to at least accomplishing some of them.

So this month is really important to me! The main goal is to Learn, Educate, Achieve, Discuss, Execute, Research and Share (LEADERS, see what I did there) from each other. So the first step is just tuning in on this month-long journey. I will not only be having my weekly posts but also share personal experiences, provide articles from others and videos (mine and others). I would also love to have a heart-to-heart discussion whether it is privately done or shared through my Social Medias or website, which will have my tips, advice or feedbacks. Remember the main goals are to become LEADERS for the future, and we can’t do it alone! As Rahul Singh said “Together we are stronger, together we are unbroken, together we can do anything” or As Walter Payton said “We are stronger together than we are alone”

So let us tackle these crises one day at a time! I thought it would only be fair to let you in on the agenda for the month of April, it may change throughout the month:

Week 1: Identifying the financial crisis state of affairs

Week 2: Main traps in the financial world (payday loans, credit cards, line of credit)

Week 3: Main traps in the financial world: solutions

Week 4: Reflection and executing a plan to budget.

All I ask is for everyone to share this as much as possible and to participate the best that they can. Remember Let us be financially fit together!
